1. Do I need a wedding planner?
With the average wedding taking 200 hours plus to organise, there's a reason wedding planning has been voted the 7th most stressful life event in the UK. Enlisting the services of a professional wedding planner will help save you time, money and stress! From choosing the venue, creating a personlised style, managing the budget, hiring the best wedding professionals, choosing invitations, creating detailed schedules, and managing all the logistics on the wedding day - a wedding planner will be with you every step of the way, giving you piece of mind that every little detail is taken care of.
2. Why do i need a wedding planner if my venue has a coordinator?
A wedding planner will be with you throughout the whole planning process, potentially 18 months prior to the actual wedding day. They will get to know their clients and work with them to deliver their vision of their dream wedding day. The planner is hired directly by the couple and will work with them to define a budget and advise and guide them on choosing suppliers, reviewing contracts and making sure everything goes smoothly through the planning process, right through to the day itself.
The venue coordinator has a very different role from a wedding planner and is employed by the venue itself. Their primary focus is therefore the venue, acting as a point of contact for the couple and liasing between them and the on-site operations team. They may be able to give some planning advice and recommend potential suppliers, but they will not plan your wedding for you or take care of everything on the wedding day.
