Who Are You?
Well hello there! I'm Sheena, a Fifer living in Glasgow, along with my husband Kyle and our pet pooch, Jura. Lover of a good cup of tea, the enticing smell of wood smoke and cold crisp winter mornings with the sound of frozen leaves crunching underfoot.
Why Did You Become A Wedding Planner?
I was inspired to launch my own wedding planning business after I planned and organised my own wedding and simply fell in love with the whole process. It sparked a passion in me, bringing together two of the things that I love to do the most; organising & planning the ever living bejeezus out of everything (my husband will happily attest to this) and being creative!
What did you do before planning weddings?
In an alternate life I worked in Environmental Management, researching, costing and managing the implementation of a wide range of high value environmental projects. This gave we a wealth of business experience but, after nearly ten years in this role, I realised something was lacking! I have always been a creative person. From the five year old trying to make perfume from rose petals out of my mums garden, to a teenager constantly repainting and decorating my bedroom, I always had some sort of creative project on the go. I realised this was something I had been ignoring in my career and I needed to express. I went on to create my own successful jewellery brand, designing and manufacturing jewellery which was distributed and sold in multiple locations throughout the UK.
Favourite part of being a wedding planner?
Ooouu it's hard to narrow it down to just one thing! I do love the initial stages, researching and bringing together the perfect venue and group of suppliers that are really in tune with my clients style and vision. But then again, I also love it in the days leading up to the big day, when all those small details and planning decisions are coming together and creating the reality of my clients dream wedding.
Favourite childhood memory?
One of my favourite memories is of visiting my grandparents on the West Coast of Scotland during our summer holidays as kids. They had the most amazing place in the Scottish Highlands which was surrounded by trees and positioned overlooking a Loch, with mountains rising into the distance. We would get lost exploring the garden, eating berries right from the bushes that lined the nearby pathways and going on adventures down to the nearby stony beach, negotiating waist high bracken and old tumble-down stone walls along the way. Those summers seemed to last forever, in the best of ways!
If you had a superpower what would it be?
I would love to be able to teleport! To be able to, at the click of my fingers, transport myself and family and friends anywhere in the world. That would be amazing. I love to travel and explore new places and it’s a long-held dream to one day buy a camper van and spend 6 months (or more!) travelling round all the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
How can I work with you?
Feel free to get in touch via my contact form page and we can arrange an initial consultation to discuss your wedding plans and how I can help.
I can’t wait to hear from you! xx
This page would simply not be complete if I didn't also introduce you to my chief sidekick, Jura.
A cheese loving, frisbee catcher, with a best friend called Batman, she never fails to bring a smile to my face.
A master of the intense stare, she loves nothing more than a good belly rub and meeting up with all the local puppers in the park!
A lover of all things relaxed, genuine and homely. Low key with a shimmer of understated elegance and bursting with the warmth, love and joy of celebration.
Inspired by rustic elements and the beauty of the natural world and its organic forms, I enjoy weaving all these elements together with the threads that make up a couples individual story. Maybe add in a hint of the quirky and alternative and certainly always good food, good wine and memories to last a lifetime.
My goal as your wedding planner is to provide you with a relaxed and stressfree experience that you love. I'll work closely with you, listening to your thoughts and ideas, providing inspiration and guidance, and ultimately planning and coordinating your collection of handpicked suppliers to create a seamless and relaxed wedding day.
I understand that entrusting someone to plan your wedding is no small thing and it is not something I take lightly. As a first step I would usually meet clients for a free initial consultation, either in person or via an online video call. This gives an opportunity for you to see what I am like as a person and to make sure that I fit with you as a couple. During this consultation we would also discuss your planning needs, allowing me to create a bespoke proposal, tailored to you.
So lets grab a cuppa and get to know each other.
